City Hall Personnel
City Administrator Carl Chalfant oversees daily operations among all departments within the City. He may be reached by telephone at (785) 325-2284 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Listed below are just a few of his responsibilities.
- Overseeing the performance of all Departments;
- Implementing policies and ideas adopted by Council;
- Ensuring that all projects, operations, and functions of the City operate efficiently;
- Ensuring all Local, State, and Federal laws are followed by the City,
- Responding to citizen concerns.
The Administrator also works on the City's annual budget, works with other agencies in the region, and performs other duties as per the request from City Council.
Denise M. Powell has held the position of city clerk since mid-2003.
Denise oversees accounts payable/receivable, payroll, attends and keeps minutes for City Council meetings, and carries on official correspondence for the City as part of her many responsibilities.
The office of the City Clerk of the City of Washington provides clerical, record keeping and administrative functions to the Council and the Manager. In addition, this individual performs many tasks that assist in guiding and managing the operation of local government policy and law.
City Treasurer Lorie Annunziato began her position in January 2017, and is under the supervision of the Mayor and City Council. Lorie performs many duties vital to the daily operations of City Hall.
Lorie's duties include, among many others, utility billing, daily reports, dispatching city crews, and assisting the city clerk.
Full Time EMT/Recreation Director
Caroline Scoville, EMT, I/C, has served as the Full Time EMT for the City of Washington since 2002. Her primary responsibility is EMS, but in addition to her responsibilites as an EMT, she also assists other departments with daily duties and responsibilities.
