City of Washington Clean-up days. Washington County Landfill will be
accepting trash free of charge these three days.
CITY OF WASHINGTON CREWS WILL ONLY
MAKE ONE PICKUP BEGINNING April 24-25th! ANYTHING NOT OUT AT THE
CURB WHEN THE CREWS GO BY WILL NOT BE PICKED UP!
City crews will pick up appliances, furniture, mattresses, box springs,
computers, etc. that are placed at the curb free of charge. These items
may also be taken to the County Landfill free of charge on these three days.
This pickup DOES NOT
INCLUDE normal household trash, tires, and construction and demolition
material. Household hazardous waste must be taken to Washington County
Solid Waste at 812 B Street. City Crews will make only one pickup
starting at the south end of town at 6:30 am working their way north.
Residents in need of special arrangements must call City Hall at 325.2284
PRIOR to Wednesday, April 23rd AT NOON so arrangements can be made.
NOTICE: City of Washington residents
may take tree limbs, brush, and yard waste to the Washington County Landfill
at any time during normal business hours FREE OF CHARGE!

Events will take place in Washington’s City Park and include , food stand
with lunch served from 11 am-1 pm and ice cream from 7pm until the fireworks
start, children's fishing contest at the dam, sand volleyball tournament, and
fireworks at dark. Pre-registration required for volleyball.
Washington Swimming Pool will offer FREE SWIMMING from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Fire Department is currently seeking donations for their annual fireworks
display. If you would like to make a donation, please make checks
payable to: RFD # 9, and donations may be sent to either Don Alldredge,
301 F Street, Washington, KS 66968 or to Jerry Alldredge, 312 W. 5th Street,
Washington, KS 66968. Your contributions are appreciated.
They are also selling 1000
raffle tickets for a chance to win $1000 cash! Tickets may be purchased
