Apri 4  -- City of Washington Clean-up day.  City crews will pick up April 4 ONLY!

City crews will pick up Thursday, April 4, 2019 free of charge.

All items must be at the curb no later than 8 a.m. April 4.  Crews will only make ONE PICKUP beginning at 8 a.m.  Anything not at the curb when crews go by will not be picked up.

Items accepted:  appliances, furniture, mattresses/box springs, computers, etc., which are placed at the curb.  These items may also be taken to the County landfill free of charge April 4-6.

This pickup DOES NOT INCLUDE: normal household trash, hazardous materials, hazardous waste or any construction/demolition material.  These items will not be picked up. 

If your items are not picked up by April 4th at 1 p.m., contact City Hall, otherwise you will need to take to the landfill yourself.

2019 ONLY:

As part of 2019 City Wide Cleanup, city staff will be accepting tires under the specified guidelines.  Tires that do not fall into these guidelines will not be picked up.

NO rims
NO concrete/dirt/debris filled tires
NO tires larger than 24” in diameter rim size
Residential pickup only
Limit of 6 tires per residential address

July 4 -- Washington Fourth of July Celebration. Events will take place in Washington’s City Park.  Washington Swimming Pool will offer FREE SWIMMING from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

July 4 -- Haddam Fourth of July celebration.  Begins at 8 p.m.  Homemade Ice cream, ball games, fireworks.

July - Relay for Life.  The Washington County Relay for Life will be held at KSDS, Washington, KS. 8 am - 11 am. Survivor registration begins at 7:45 am.

August   -- Haddam Frontier Days. Parade  Saturday, open theme;   co-ed sand volley ball tournament all day;  kids games begin at 10 a.m. at the platform;  entertainment at 7:30 p.m., pork supper a la carte; and dance from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.  Sunday morning church services begin at 10:45 a.m. at Methodist Church.  Golf tournament on Sunday.  For more information call 785.778.2818.
